The U.S. Women’s National Team is one of the strongest volleyball squads in the world. In 2014, the U.S. broke through for its first major gold medal, winning the FIVB World Championship, and they’ve medaled in every FIVB World Cup since 2003. The five-time Olympic medalists have been on the podium in each of the last three Olympic Games, and more recently, they’ve won the first two iterations of FIVB’s Volleyball Nations League, which began in 2018.
USA Volleyball is the National Governing Body for the sport of volleyball in the United States. Stars of the Sport—Beach and Indoor. Beverly Oden is a former member of the USA Volleyball team who competed in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. In volleyball's 100-plus year history, there have been many amazing American athletes who have made an impact on the game.
The Americans also won Olympic bronze medals in 1992 and 2016. The U.S. has struck gold in both the FIVB World Championship (1986) and FIVB World Cup (1985, 2015) and has also medaled in both iterations of the Volleyball Nations League (2018-19). The U.S. Men have finished with gold or silver in every NORCECA Championship they’ve participated in since 1981, making the U.S. Men’s National Team one of the most successful in the world.
USA Volleyball’s National Team Development Program is your path to learning the skills to be the absolute best player you can be. Launched in late 2020, NTDP will increase the opportunities for athletes to be seen and evaluated, and to develop within the USA Volleyball National Team training system.
